B2022 Community Engagement Team supported the event delivering Sports activations via the Community Roadshow.
Located metres away from Games venue Arena Birmingham the event provided the opportunity for local residents to engage positively with the Games which land on their doorstep in coming weeks. Ladywood is has one of the highest youth populations in the city and is home of many Commonwealth and diaspora communities.
The Roadshow delivered alongside several other sports and activities including trampolining, cricket and army circuit training.
The Ladywood Project expressed a shared desire to engage more of their young people and families in sporting activity by breaking down barriers to sport and accessible pathways to sport. They are a celebrating communities fund grantee which allowed them to supplement the event with refreshments, free raffle and give aways.
