Report
The West Midlands Community Campuses are a legacy of the Youth Charter's work in West Midlands since our Manchester 2002 Connecting Communities Youthwise Project which brought young people to the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.
This was followed by the Heath Town Community Campuse between 2015 and 2017, and then from 2021 the Youth Charter's contribution to the Birmingham 2002 Commonwealth Games and the establishement of a Birmingham Community Campus.
The Youth Charter’s work has seen policy, projects, programmes and initiatives inspire sport for development and inclusion in the lives and communities in the West Midlands.
Heath Town Community Campus
The Heath Town Community Campus was developed between 2015 and 2017 in partnership and consultation with the local schools, community organisations and public sector agencies.
The Heathtown Community Consultation presented a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities presented within a community currently facing a very fragmented sport / physical activity lifestyle offer, with a lack of a truly coordinated effort that meets the needs of children, young people and the wider community.
The Birmingham Community Campus provides the opportunity for you to share, discuss and showcase the great work that you and your organisation is delivering with young people and their communities.
The Birmingham Community Campus is a legacy of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and the Youth Charter's work in the West Midlands since Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games, please see the Birmingham 2022 Community Engagement Archive.
